UC Berkeley values its employees and cares about their career development on campus. The University encourages each employee to actively manage their career and to develop their talents in ways that link to specific career opportunities that are meaningful and satisfying and fulfill the mission and needs of the Berkeley campus.
The Center for Organizational and Workforce Development, in partnership with Human Resources and with Counseling and Psychological Services at the University Health Services, offers a range of programs and services to Berkeley staff and faculty to support their career development. The services and resources provided are intended to help employees become more aware of their strengths and talents and how those factors relate to specific career opportunities on campus. Understanding oneself and understanding the needs of the Berkeley campus enables individuals to make informed career decisions and actively pursue and advance in rewarding career paths, ultimately benefiting both the employee and the University.
