Having knowledge of career paths and job opportunities at Berkeley, and the skills and qualifications necessary to be successful in these positions, is another essential piece of career development.

I'm not sure what types of jobs are out there …or what my options are at Berkeley?

  • Read actual job descriptions posted at eRecruit to learn about opportunities on campus.
  • Visit the Berkeley Job Builder to learn about job fields and families on campus. Employees are now able to see the career path from one job to another, including information about the skills, abilities and knowledge needed to be successful in a particular job on campus.
  • Visit the Career Counseling Library:
    • Research occupations that are similar to jobs on campus using books, articles, computerized career information systems, and web links available at the Library
    • Register at the Library for an account to:
      • Eureka - a web-based California career information systems containing extensive information on occupations and listings of local educational and training programs.
      • Wetfeet - a web site containing career and industry profiles, real people profiles and helpful career-related articles. Books on occupations, resume writing, interviewing, networking and more can be downloaded by obtaining a user ID and password.
    • Once you identify occupations of interest in Eureka and/or Wetfeet, you can look for similar jobs on campus using eRecruit.
    • Individual assistance from professional staff is available.
